Today marks twenty years since Nas's Illmatic was released. I'm not going to lie and say I have been a fan since birth but it is incredible how influential this album has been on my current catalogue of music. For me personally, this album is taking a while to sink in. It seems that the more I listen to it the more I like it. The more I listen the more lyrics I hear that have been copied by current artists and are in some of the biggest hits of the last twenty years (ex: "Dead Presidents").
